Name Tag Design
Students will design and draw a name tag to be used on their practical folders. The unit looks at drawing, measuring as well as the visual elements of line, colour and pattern.
The S1 portrait unit introduces the visual element of tone to students. Students will explore different tonal techniques including shading, cross hatching, stippling and more. They will work on drawing, scaling and measuring up to produce a realistic portrait. Students, with their teacher, may use a variety of different techniques to produce a final outcome.
This is an IDL unit were Art and the English departments work together to produce a cover/illustration for a Twisted Fairytale story which students write about in English. Students work with their teacher to research and choose appropriate images, colours, styles and techniques to produce a variety of finished covers. Here are some amazing examples below.
Learning about colour is such an important part of the Art course. Learning about how we see and interpret colour is fascinating and links human biology and Art together.
